Kʷak̓ʷala & Lik̓ʷala Language Program

At Ripple Rock Elementary School, all students participate in Kʷak̓ʷala and Lik̓ʷala language learning as part of their regular school experience. Language instruction is provided by language teachers from local First Nations and is integrated into each classroom's weekly schedule.

The program supports students in developing awareness and appreciation of local Indigenous languages, cultures, and ways of knowing. Through language learning, cultural teachings, and relationship-building, students gain a deeper understanding of the rich Indigenous heritage of our community.
